Knowing how to get the best out of the web doesn’t just make it easier and quicker to find the right information. It can also transform your school work into something original and outstanding. Anyone can type a few keywords into a search engine and slavishly copy out the results. But that’s no way to get good results. With Studying Using the Web you can find the right material, check its authenticity, transform it into your own original work and keep updated on essential topics.

This isn’t just a matter of doing things a little better. If you’ve been in the habit of copying material straight from the web into your work, chances are at some point you are going to get caught. Teachers and lecturers know what’s going on, and are using increasingly clever ways to spot web plagiarism (copying). It might be quick and easy, but in the end it’s just as much cheating to copy from the web as it is to copy test results from the person sitting next to you. Taking material wholesale from the web is just not worth the risk, especially when it can be so easy to take the raw information that is out there and turn it into something that really reflects your own interests and capabilities.

There are plenty of guide books that point you to interesting websites. They’re great, but they get out of date very quickly, and they won’t help you make something of what you find. Studying Using the Web is different. It’s about how to find the right information, and how to make the most of it.

You could stay jogging round the information race track. But think how much better you could do with the right technology and skills to drive a leading edge study machine. Let’s take the web driving seat.

"Everyone uses the internet in their schoolwork - but if you aren't careful you can end up plodding around the information fast track.

It's time to change up to something more powerful.”
